One of the most popular and beloved activities of our NGO are the tree planting campaigns. We have planted more than one million trees with volunteers since 2004, in different parts of Romania, mountainous, sub-mountainous, hilly and lowland. Between 2014 and 2022 we carried out a series of tree planting events called: Transylvania Forest, totalling 80 hectares planted.
The Pedagogical Forest is the only "school" where you can learn why a forest is important, how it grows and how it contributes to maintaining the balance between air, water and life. It is our project that has so far been enjoyed by over 14,000 children, teenagers and adults alike.
The Christmas Trucks project started in 2003 as a desire to bring joy to the village children. Children and teenagers from Transylvanian counties, enrolled in some form of education, were visited year after year by Tășuleasa volunteers, who brought gifts of essential goods, made by children from Germany and transported with the help of our long time partners Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe.
Good Day - Small Volunteers Day is confirmation of our stubborn belief in the future of this country. The project is linked to the Christmas Trucks in that all children who have received a Christmas present are encouraged to take part in volunteering for their community. The future depends on education, not just in school, but also outside of school, on what we teach the younger generation.
The first form of non-formal education for adults on hiking and mountaineering: Mountain Hiking School. It was time to get involved in this area as well, because we felt that many people who wanted to spend time on mountain trails didn't know how to do it safely and we set out to guide them. In the five editions we ran (2015-2019) over 1,200 people learned how to track, camp and organize a hike in the mountains properly.
The Via Maria Theresia Marathon is a mountain running competition, which gathers hundreds of athletes in the Călimani Mountains every year . We have thus revived an old path linking Transylvania and Moldova since the time of Empress Maria Theresia, used then by the troops at the borders of the Empire for supplies and nowadays revived by over 4,000 sport-loving participants.
